Kick It Old School with the China Glaze Kicks Collection (Part Uno!) - Makeup and Beauty Blog
How frickin' awesome are these vivid shades from the new Red china Coat Kicks Drove?
I had a blast swatching these commencement six shimmery shades from the vibrant 12-slice spring drove ($3 a canteen; more swatches to follow).
The collection's assuming dejection, greens, oranges and pinks were inspired by colorful tennis shoes — the young'ns telephone call 'em kicks — merely they remind me of S thousand i t t fifty es .
Custom Kicks is my favorite of the ones shown here. It's the shimmery blueish teal at the superlative.
This one takes me back, all the fashion back to my very first shoe crush…
It was 1985; I was an awkward 5th grader, having 1) a basin haircut, two) clothes that never matched (seriously, we badly needed a GAP Kids or Limited Too dorsum then) and 3) crippling shyness.
My mission in life was to blend in to the scenery, and I avoided anything that would make me stand up out.
It was a ROUGH Twelvemonth.
But at that place were high points. I won second identify in a poster contest (I drew a cat reading a book with the explanation, "Shove colorlessness away, and selection up a book!") and managed to avert whatsoever bully vanquish downs.
Just the accented highlight of that year was my pair of teal blue Reebok tennis shoes , and I wore them every day.
I spent one-half my fourth dimension with my caput down (to avoid making center contact with my classmates), just at least I had something cute on my feet. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty aficionado,
Karen
